The Noble Knights, were the brain-child idea of the late, Crazy Pete. Pete and some of his friends, their older brothers were Berwyn Greasers and Arch Dukes in the Berwyn and Cicero area in the late 1960's even into the early 1970's.
Crazy Pete then started his idea of thee "NOBLE KNIGHTS" and chose the corner of 14th Street and 51st Court in the Grant Works neighborhood of Cicero IL. There were 3 types of NK's: Seniors, Juniors and PeeWee's.
The Noble Knights took on the war with the Ridgeway Lords, that the Arch Dukes left behind....They NK's also went to war with the Gaylords, after an NK killed a GL, with a karate chop to the neck.
The Noble Knights were taught much about respect. To give and recieve. The majority of the NKs were Italian descent. and the rest average white guys. Later on a few select Hispanics were chosen to join the Noble Knights.
After the murder of Crazy Pete, another NK, named Yogi (RIP) took over the nation due to Petes wishes. One of the self appointed duties of the Noble Knights were to attempt to keep the African Americans out of Cicero.
The allies of the Noble Knoights included: 12th Street Players, Arch Dukes and Park Boys mostly, they also had good relationships with the Latin Kings from the Little Village neighborhood as well as the Cicero Latin Counts because they both rode under the knight's helmet, but that led to back and forth arguing with longtime friends/cousins, the 12th Strret Players.
Enemies included: Folks, Ridgeway Lords and Gaylords. The Noble Knights had a huge war with the 22 boys in Grant Works. The 22 boys used to be located a few blocks down from the NKs, over on 14th Street and 49th Avenue.
Back in the day, lives weren't really taken. The most people lost was some skin usually. The NKs also had a small war with the Cicero Imperial Gangsters, that were in Grant Works for a short time in the early 1980's...
The Gangster Noble Knights, also added on the Almighty to their name when they joined the People Alliance. The Noble Knights, are STILL around in Cicero/Berwyn area....all though smaller in numbers. No one can ever take back the memories.
